Playground update

The new-look Alpine Road Reserve features exciting and innovative equipment, including a flying fox, swing, timber platform with slide, asphalt scooter and a bike pump track. One of the main attractions is Marion’s first Ninja Warrior course which features a series of challenges for children over six years old. The course includes:

  • Vine Run (scramble along the rope vine without letting their feet touch the ‘lava’ below)
  • Cliff Hanger (shuffle along bars without touching the ground)
  • Scale a 3-metre climbing wall
  • Monkey Bars
  • Jump between giant steppers
  • Pommel Walk (test balance by stepping on discs suspended from a rope)

A miniature fairy village has been carved into logs. 24 new trees and about 1200 new plants have been planted.

Sports lovers will enjoy the new 3 on 3 basketball and netball court and junior footy goals.

Additional amenities include a picnic shelter, paths to improve access, drinking fountain.

An official opening for Alpine Road Reserve was held in November 2020. The neighbourhood playground was upgraded in conjunction with Mostyn Road Reserve, Darlington.
