A new public toilet was proposed for the Edwardstown Soldiers Memorial Recreation Ground.
A toilet was suggested for this recreation ground as it is highly utilised and there is currently no amenity for the general public to use at this site outside of sporting club times of use.
Resident consultation occurred to seek community feedback on the need for a facility along with two potential location options. Consultation occurred from 17 September to 15 October 2021. Consultation feedback is currently under review.
Final outcomes of the consultation will be documented on our website. This may include a summary of all contributions collected as well as recommendations for future action. Relevant consultation documents are listed below.
Edwardstown Soldiers' Memorial Recreation Ground has a neighbourhood playground and was upgraded at the end of 2015 with the theme Snakes and Ladders.
The Robert Street side of the playground has three-metre long snake sculpture for children to clamber over. Wooden planks and steppers mimic the idea of the game and there are plenty of rocks and logs to test your climbing skills. There's a small slide on near the velodrome side of the playground.
The Wood Street side of the playground features a standard swing, baby swing and basket swing. Sand and Water Play fans will love the water pump and sand digger. Bring some chalk and draw on the large chalkboard or bring some dice and play Snakes and Ladders on the game board on the picnic table.
The courts at Edwardstown Soldiers' Memorial Recreation Ground were upgraded in 2015. The new multi-use courts have basketball and tennis line-markings and are available for public use.
There is a selection of static fitness equipment and a drinking fountain on the south eastern corner of the site (corner of Wood Street and Robert Street). To see how to use the equipment, watch the video below.
