Accessibility

George Street Reserve features one of the largest wheelchair accessible trampolines available on the market today. The main play feature is the water play and sunken sand pit.

The water-play rock is at an accessible height for interaction with water. The sand pit features an accessible soft-fall ramp that would allow easy access to the sand play level.

The play cubbies provide refuge/quiet locations for children with autism. In addition to the above, we have created an accessible path network that connects the playspace to adjacent streets and internal facilities.

The new double barbecue is an accessible model allowing wheelchair access.

The drink fountain has an extended basin to allow for easy access for wheelchair users. City of Marion’s inclusive design outlook is that not everyone can play on everything but there is something for everyone.

Reserve

There's plenty of room to run around here, with space the southern and eastern end adding to the area available at this reserve.

Marion Historic Village

George Street Reserve is situated in the Marion Historic Village precinct. It was once the pug hole (source of clay for bricks) for the establishment of the village. Public art is used to celebrate and recognise the site's previous history and importance.
