Things to do
Glandore Community Centre Reserve was upgraded with unique bird habitat designs - allowing children's imagination to take flight.
This upgraded reserve features a birdcage design with a scramble net, tunnel slide and climbing logs which opened in July 2021. Junior play echoes this theme with a birdhouse inspired structure, scramble net and junior slide.
The addition of a new games and sports plaza includes a 3 v 3 basketball court and outdoor table tennis facilities. There is a kick about lawn with mini soccer goals. There is a new pump track for scooters and bikes, a popular community request.
The centre’s woodwork group volunteered to make 13 colourful birdhouses fixed to natural timber posts within the playground. A dandelion art sculpture by Gerry McMahon completes this upgrade.
Residents are invited to view the community engagement report, concept plan and postcard. A final design has been completed.
The Rugby Building is available to hire for functions and features a small fully-fenced playground and sandpit. Find out more about hiring this building on our Halls and Meeting Rooms for Hire webpage.
The City of Marion has a number of reserves along or near to the Mike Turtur Bikeway (listed from the City to Glenelg). Why not spend a day exploring them?
