Reserve and Playground upgraded

Hawkesbury Avenue Reserve in Sturt is a local playground.

A new playground was built in 2024 with play equipment including slides, monkey bars, a basket swing and balance stations. This project was jointly funded by the City of Marion and the Federal Government.
The upgraded reserve officially opened on 8 March 2024.

A mini soccer goal on the irrigated turf, seating and tall shade trees complement the playground. A junior pump track sits alongside the playground for more fun play.

Sit and relax under the trees with a book from the little library, or play in this beautiful little reserve.

Project History

A new playground and reserve upgrade was planned for Hawkesbury Avenue Reserve from January 2024. This project was jointly funded by the City of Marion and the Federal Government.

Key items proposed in the upgrade included but not limited to are:

Path connections
Additional trees and garden bed
Upgraded irrigation system
Seating
