Kenton Avenue Reserve in Oaklands Park is a neighbourhood playground and was upgraded in 2013.
It's shady and cool and a pleasant place to stop along the Sturt River Linear Park or take a break at the shelter and picnic table.
See if you can find the the bird boxes which help provide shelter for our native birds.
Although there are no toilets at this reserve it’s a short walk (5-10min) to Oaklands Reserve. On the way you will cross the train track and may see Adelaide’s electric trains in action.
This back-street reserve has lots to do for the nature play adventurer.
There is a water play area with pump channel, large climbing net over a sand pit and a grassy kick-about area. Rocky steps take you down to a talking tube that you can use to communicate with your friends up above.
A basket swing and quad-rocker are in place for the usual play activities.
There is a small selection of fitness equipment at the back of the reserve, along Sturt River Linear Park making this a perfect stop-off for some exercise along your way. To see how to use the equipment, watch the video below.

This reserve is situated along the Marino Rocks Greenway. The Marino Rocks Greenway connects the City to the Coast to Vines Rail Trail.

Construction update for Oaklands Estate Reserve. Stage 2 starts 18 February 2019 with new playground equipment, additional picnic shelter and BBQ, upgrades to pathways and improvements to the Japanese Garden. Stage 1 is completed, however some sections will remain closed until April. Read more...

Construction update for Stage 1 of the Oaklands Estate Reserve upgrade. Shelters and BBQ facilities are being installed. The dryland creek is being redeveloped into a nature play area and nature play equipment added. Pathways and retaining walls are being constructed.

Oaklands Estate Reserve will be a regional playground that will incorporate recreation and picnic facilities, play opportunities, pathway connections and landscaping. The works will occur over two stages to enable parts of the reserve to remain open during the construction (Oct 2018 - June 2019).
