Things to do
Oaklands Reserve comprises of three recreational spaces:
Oaklands Reserve is a sensitive habitat for many species of flora and fauna. Vehicle access is restricted by a locked boom gate* at the entry points overnight.

*Vehicles that overstay and require a call-out to open the gates will incur a charge.
Orienteering is an adventure sport in which participants use a map to navigate around a course visiting checkpoints along the way. The objective is to visit all checkpoints in as short a time as possible. Each person decides their own route around the course. Challenge yourself and have a go!

This reserve is situated along Sturt River Linear Park. Visit our Sturt River Linear Park webpage to download the trail map and spend a day exploring the Sturt River.
This reserve is situated along the Marino Rocks Greenway. The Marino Rocks Greenway connects the City to the Coast to Vines Rail Trail.
The group formed in 2014 and adopted the Oaklands biodiversity corridor as its first project. Already its impact is enjoyed by the people, plants and animals that live in and visit the area.

Construction update for Oaklands Estate Reserve. Stage 2 starts 18 February 2019 with new playground equipment, additional picnic shelter and BBQ, upgrades to pathways and improvements to the Japanese Garden. Stage 1 is completed, however some sections will remain closed until April. Read more...

The Hendrie Street Reserve Inclusive Playground, Park Holme will be closed for 5 days to continue line-marking and pavement graphics (Monday 11 February 2019 to Friday 15 February 2019).

Construction update for Stage 1 of the Oaklands Estate Reserve upgrade. Shelters and BBQ facilities are being installed. The dryland creek is being redeveloped into a nature play area and nature play equipment added. Pathways and retaining walls are being constructed.

Oaklands Estate Reserve will be a regional playground that will incorporate recreation and picnic facilities, play opportunities, pathway connections and landscaping. The works will occur over two stages to enable parts of the reserve to remain open during the construction (Oct 2018 - June 2019).

The second stage of the Oaklands Recreation Plaza has now been completed. The plaza now features an iconic rotunda with amphitheatre, picnic facilities, trike path, 3 on 3 basketball court and netball ring. The works also addressed stormwater mitigation. Find out more...
