Playground Upgrade

Oakvale Way Reserve was upgraded with climbing challenges, a soccer goal, and a nature play trail in February 2021. The new combination play unit is 1.8 meters high offering a taller and longer slide, with stunning coastal views at this local level Hallett Cove playground.

The structure promotes climbing for a variety of ages and abilities through the three entry points offering arched, angled, and vertical ramp access. The play facilities are targeted at ages 3 to 8 year olds and also features a cargo net bridge between platforms.

Budding explorers can navigate the nature play trail and stop for a snack or picnic surrounded by the new garden beds. The nature play trail consists of six balance logs amongst native plants which will be planted in April. Over 350 new native plants will enhance the local biodiversity value of the reserve.

The reserve amenities have also been enhanced including a drinking fountain and formalised path access to the existing picnic setting.
