Playground removal

The playground equipment at Parsons Grove Reserve has reached the end of its life expectancy.

As part of the Playground Framework, Council has reviewed the provision of playgrounds to ensure an equitable and sustainable provision of innovative, safe and high quality playgrounds. A number of playgrounds have been proposed for removal.

Consultation regarding the removal was open from 3 April 2018 to 26 April 2018.  Consultation feedback will be presented to Council in May for a final decision.

Proposed plans after the equipment is removed include minor landscaping, additional trees and a citrus/nut orchard.  The existing trees, seating and pathway will remain.

Construction is underway for a new Hendrie Street Reserve Inclusive Playground.  The removal is planned in line with the construction of this playground which will near completion towards the end of June 2018.
