Rajah Street Resere in Oaklands Park is a neighbourhood playground that was upgraded in 2014. It has a small playground, picnic facilities and lots of sports facilities.
The playground features a climbing net, small toddler slide, spinner and a rodeo board. Balancing logs are situated on the Rajah Street side of the reserve.
Sports are well catered for here with a lot of facilities packed into this small reserve.
The multiuse courts feature a 2-lane 40 metre sprint track through the middle of the basketball and tennis courts, with painted cricket wickets cleverly designed into the court space.
Static fitness equipment will get your heart racing on the northern side of the courts, with handball on the southern side.
This is a reserve that you'll want to spend some time in - there's a sheltered picnic table, BBQ and drinking fountain. There's plenty of on-street parking or bring your bicycle.
The City of Marion with the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation and the local community worked together to upgrade this reserve in 2014, to increase levels of sport and recreation participation in this area.
“I have seen first-hand the difference sport can make to children – to their lives now and in their future. And that is what this Foundation is all about – giving these kids access to a better life by giving them access to sport.”
- Roger Rasheed
