Computers & technology

City of Marion Libraries provides Wi-Fi, computer access and printing services at all three of our branches.

Computers

Public computers are available for use at all of our branches. All public computers provide free access to the internet and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Publisher.

Your library card number (X+10 numbers) as well as your pin number - your date of birth in following format DDMMYYYY - is required to log into a Public PC. Day passes are available for interstate and overseas visitors.

Walk-up computer bookings are available, but are subject to demand. If you wish to make a future booking, visit the Library’s computer reservation page or call 8375 6785.

Computer session times are currently limited to 1 hour per person

Tablets

The Marion Cultural Centre Branch has a set of 6 loanable Android tablets, known as 'Hublets' available for customers to use within the Library.

Hublets automatically connect to the internet and are perfect for accessing materials in our online library such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, online magazines and newspapers, as well as for surfing the internet, streaming videos, connecting with friends and family on social media and playing online games.

Three tablet profiles with age appropriate apps are available - Child, Teen & Adult.

Your library card number (X+10 numbers) as well as your pin number - your date of birth in following format DDMMYYYY - is required to borrow a Hublet.

Loan sessions are for 3 hours

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available at all City of Marion library branches. There are two options for you to connect to:

  • LibrariesSA-Free
  • CoM-Free

These accounts will be found in your device's Wi-Fi and network settings, when you enter one of our branches.

No passwords are required, but you will be asked to agree to terms and conditions before connecting.

Printing, Photocopying & Scanning

Printing & Copy Charges

Printing and photocopying services are available at all our branches and our print kiosks accept both cash and EFTPOS. The following rates apply:

A4 Black and White $0.20 per page

A3 Black and White $0.30 per page

A4 Colour $1.00 per page

A3 Colour $1.50 per page

Print jobs can be sent directly from our public computers to the photocopier. Your library card number (X+10 numbers) is required to use printing and photocopying services. Day passes are available for interstate and overseas visitors.

Document Scanning

Document scanning is available for free on our public photocopiers and does not require library membership. Scanned documents can be saved to either USB or sent directly to an email account.

Each branch has USB flash drives which are available for 2 hour loan.

Web Printing

Web printing allows you to send your documents to our printers wirelessly, from either inside or outside the library.

You can send you documents via email to our printers, or upload your files to our WebPrint site using your library card number (X+10 numbers).

Once you have sent or uploaded you documents you can release them from the public printers at any of our branches.

Kids & Teen Devices

Kids iPads

Kids iPads are located in the children's area of each our library branches.

They feature a wide range of fun and educational games for children to play and enjoy. Games are updated regularly.

These devices are to be used in the library and cannot be pre-booked or loaned out

Storytime Pods

Storytime Pods are digital storytelling devices located in the children's area at each of our three branches.

They feature an easy to use touch screen and are loaded with hundreds of animated stories, which children can listen to and read along with.

These devices also feature many stories in languages other than English.

Xbox Consoles

Xboxes are available for use in the children's and teen areas of the Cove Civic Centre Library.

Controllers and games are available for 2 hour loan from the front desk.

Games include: Minecraft, Assetto Corsa, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, NBA 2K20, and many more.

Nintendo Switches

Nintendo Switch Lites are available for loan from the front desk at each of our three branches.

Pre-loaded games include Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Untitled Goose Game and many more.

Use of these devices is limited to within the Library and a 1 hour loan period applies.
