Originally designed by Melbourne architects Ashton Raggat McDougall (ARM) in collaboration with the Adelaide studio of Phillips/Pilkington Architects back in 2001, the Centre was funded by the Marion City Council to create a cultural meeting place for the community of Marion. The distinctive façade incorporates the word 'Marion' into its external features making it a truly unique hub for the arts in the City of Marion.
The building has won a host of awards for design and construction and the City of Marion won a community services award for it.
Take a look back at the original build in progress. While some of the internal features have changed over the years the Centre remains a unique jewel in the crown of the City of Marion.
