On the day

We suggest that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the party starting to allow yourself time to set up and to accommodate your arriving guests. To make it easy for you and your guests, feel free to leave a list of the names of those attending at reception, we will then be able to confirm numbers and direct them to where you are gathered. Pay for your party once all your guests have arrived. A birthday party host will meet the children at the Learners Pool at the designated party time. The host will take the children in the pool to play fun games and activities for approximately 40 minutes, and will then take the children on the waterslide or our inflatable turtle for the last 20 minutes (this is usually determined by the height of the children, as they must be 1.2 metres tall to ride the slide by themselves, or the demand of the waterslide on the day). When the hour is completed, the host will return the children to you, and you can stay in the centre for as long as you like. The children then become your responsibility.

Birthday Party invitations are also available from the swimming centre reception, or can be mailed out to you after booking.

Alternatively you can download a free printable copy here!

What is the minimum age for a kid’s party?

The minimum age is 5 years.

Can I book one of your table sets or shelter areas?

Unfortunately we don't reserve areas for birthday parties, but we do have four acres of lawn that has lots of natural and artificial shade. There are lovely spots to set up your party in the shade. We can offer you one of our trestle tables for your convenience.

What games do the party leaders organise?

It is dependent on the age of the children. Younger kids may play treasure hunt, what's the time mister wolf, noodle races, stuck in the mud, relay games and general play with a mix of pool toys. Older kids will be encouraged to play team based activities like basketball, relay challenge games and others.

Can I bring my own food and drink in to the centre?

Yes! This is a very popular option for party hosts. We have BBQ facilities at the southern end of the grounds which are free to use. Groups like to use these, so we keep them regularly cleaned for your use. We ask that people don't bring in any glass (including water and sauce bottles) or alcohol. We have a 'zero tolerance' policy on consumption of alcohol within the grounds.

If you require any food to be kept cool in our cool room or freezer, you are more than welcome to use. All we ask is that you notify staff at reception upon your arrival and one of our staff members will gladly assist you.

Can a younger sibling join in with the activity?

Yes, they can be included into the party with the normal fee of charge. The games are tailored to the age of the birthday child/friends, so we would encourage a parent to jump in and assist the younger child. Alternatively, you may wish a parent to entertain the sibling during the pool activities and have them join the food section of the party free of charge.

How long can we stay for after the party activities?

You can stay and play right up to the centre closing for the day, 6pm on weekends.

Do we have to pay for the parents who come through to drop their kids off?

We allow parents to come through to drop their kids off at the party. If the party is a booked party (with the party leader) any supervising adult is not charged. However, if the party is a private party, then any non-swimming adult that stays at the venue needs to pay a $4.00 spectator fee. Any swimming adult is required to pay to swim, $7.20 adult or $6.00 concession. Additional children are also required to pay to swim, $6.00 or spectate, $4.00.

Some of our guests didn’t attend. What do I pay if less than the minimum children turn up?

The minimum cost is for 10 children. If you had more than the minimum, but not all of your guests attended, you only pay for those that have attended. If less than 10 attended you are still required to pay the minimum cost of 10 children.
