Learning to swim and water safety

Swimming Lessons

We have swimming lessons for children as young as three years old through to adult lessons. The groups are small to offer best attention: maximum of our students for levels 1 - 4 and six students for levels 5, 6 and Adult/Teen beginner. Our swim school terms are in line with regular school terms 1 and 4.

Times and Costs (Season 17-18)

Children's classes: 30 minutes (Levels 1 - 4) and 45 minutes (Level 5 - 6) per lesson

Monday to Thursday:  4pm to 6pm

Saturday: 9am to 12pm

The cost for the term is $154.80 ($17.20 per lesson for 9 lessons) . You are entitled to make-up lessons if you are unable to make a lesson due to illness.

Adult classes: 45 minutes per lesson

Cost:  $20 per lesson

Private lessons:  30 minutes per lesson

Time by negotiation

Cost:  $33.80 per lesson

VACSWIM SA

SA Water VACSWIM SA is a South Australian Government supported initiative for primary school aged children.  It provides them with opportunities to develop a range of skills and positive experiences in the areas of water safety, confidence and competence in the water, personal survival activities and basic aquatic emergency procedures.

The Marion Outdoor Pool offers a Royal Life Saving Society 'Swim and Survive (Levels 1-7) program.

Visit the VACSWIM website for more information. The 2019 main program will commence on 2 January and we will be able to accept enrolments from our new season opening date of 2 October 2018, either by email or phone if previously enrolled.

New participants can download the VACSWIM form below and email to swimcentre@marion.sa.gov.au.

Staff at Marion Outdoor Pool will use their best efforts to place a participant in the appropriate level, but the instructor will re-locate them if appropriate once the class begins.


Migrant Women's Swimming Program

The Migrant Women's Swimming Program is a female only swimming program that is a combination of swimming lessons, water activities and leisure time.

The program is offered over three dates;  Saturday 23rd February, Saturday 9th March and Saturday 23rd March.  The sessions will run 6.30pm-8.30pm and the sessions are free.

It is strictly open to women only, aged 12 and over.  Unfortunately children under the age of 12 will not be allowed on the premises.

To enrol in any of the classes, please download the enrolment form below, and return to swimcentre@marion.sa.gov.au.  A member of staff will then be in touch to confirm your enrolment.  Alternatively, you can return the enrolment form to us here at the pool in person.
