The primary objective of the Finance and Audit Committee is to add value through the provision of advice to ensure that the resources of the City of Marion are being used efficiently and effectively.
It assists Council to accomplish its objectives by contributing to a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The committee comprises of three independent members and two Elected Members: Councillor Raelene Telfer and Councillor Nick Kerry. The Elected Member representative is appointed for 12 months and changes in October each year.
The independent members are Greg Connor (Chair), Emma Hinchey and Natalie Johnston who bring knowledge and expertise in: Corporate governance, asset and risk management, audit and financial management, change management, strategic planning. We are in the process of appointing a third member.
Meetings are held in Council Chambers at 245 Sturt Road, Sturt, quarterly. The schedule of meetings for each year is determined by the Finance and Audit Committee.

27 February - 9.30am to 12.30pm
29 May - 9.30am to 12.30pm
21 August - 4.00pm to 6.00pm (including a joint workshop with Council from 7.00pm to 9.00pm)
2 October - 9.30am to 12.30pm
11 December - 9.30am to 12.30pm
