Gap year @ City of Marion

A gap year with the City of Marion will give you the edge to kick-start your career.

The program offers two school leavers a paid, 12-month role in Council where you’ll learn new skills and gain valuable experience and contacts.

Work times

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm although there may be occasions when work outside these hours is required.

What will you do?

You’ll rotate through different departments across the organisation, building confidence while working alongside friendly professionals.
A city as big as Marion needs a skilled and diverse team to serve the community. You’ll find roles in finance, IT, communications, people and culture, engineering, landscaping, community wellbeing and libraries
With such a diverse range of jobs available, you can be assured that no two days will be the same.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking individuals with energy, creativity and passion for the community. You will be a team player, someone who thrives on challenges, a great communicator, achievement focused and demonstrate initiative.
