About Council
A gap year with the City of Marion will give you the edge to kick-start your career.
The program offers two school leavers a paid, 12-month role in Council where you’ll learn new skills and gain valuable experience and contacts.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm although there may be occasions when work outside these hours is required.
You’ll rotate through different departments across the organisation, building confidence while working alongside friendly professionals.
A city as big as Marion needs a skilled and diverse team to serve the community. You’ll find roles in finance, IT, communications, people and culture, engineering, landscaping, community wellbeing and libraries
