Birthday parties

Birthday parties are available for children turning ages 5 to 12. We accommodate for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 children.

Our birthday parties are hosted by qualified staff.

Each birthday party has a 2 1/2 hour duration.

Your party includes a dedicated space in the Balinese Style Hut, Party Room or Gazebo, hosted activities and waterslide wristband, and a food package.

City of Marion Residents receive a 30% discount off hosted birthday parties.

Hosted birthday party Terms & Conditions

Party Policies

  • Hosted birthday parties are for children aged 5 -12 years old.
  • It is essential that ALL children attending a hosted Birthday Party are confident in water.
  • Marion Outdoor Pool is a Watch Around Water facility, birthday parties are hosted. Children aged 5 to 9 years are required to be actively supervised at all times by a parent/caregiver with-in the ratio’s outlined by the WAW policy.
  • Marion Outdoor Pool allows decorations with nothing to be affixed to structures. All areas must be left in a neat state.
  • Party areas are assigned depending on availability. Requested party areas cannot always be guaranteed.
  • We appreciate, for timing purposes that children arrive dressed and ready for the water 10 minutes prior to the booked party time.

Bookings, Confirmation and Payment

  • A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 dollars is to be paid to secure the date and time of the party. This amount is taken off the total bill at time of payment.
  • Party attendance numbers and food options must be finalised 7 days prior to the party.
  • All bookings must be paid in full by 5pm on the Wednesday preceding the booked party date, with final confirmation of numbers and menu selection. No changes will be accepted after this time.
  • Parties cancelled after 5pm on the Wednesday preceding the booked party date will lose their deposit.
  • No refunds will be provided for guests who do not attend once final attendance numbers have been submitted and paid.

Medical Conditions

  • Please advise Marion outdoor pool staff of any known medical conditions of guests that may pose a risk to safety
  • Marion Outdoor Pool is a smoke, vape, glass and alcohol-free facility.

Food Information

  • No changes to catering will be permitted after 5pm on the Wednesday prior to the booked party date.
  • External food is permitted to be brought into the facility (strictly no glass containers)
  • Marion Outdoor Pool Kiosk is also available for purchasing of food and drinks.
  • Special dietary requirements must be arranged and finalised on the completion of booking and payment no later than 5pm on the Wednesday prior to the booked party date.
  • Catering requirements cannot be changed on the day.

Water Based Activities

  • Pool rules are to be observed. If a party goer does not adhere to facility rules, they may be asked to sit out.
  • Hosted Birthday parties are allocated to 45 minutes of in water games with a designated party host.
  • Children must be 5 years of age to participate during the in-water games portion of hosted birthday party.

Legal Obligations

  • Marion Outdoor Pool will not accept responsibility for damage or loss of personal property left in the facility prior, during or after the party.
  • Valuables should not be left in the changing rooms or is do so at own risk. Lockers are available see pool reception to hire.
  • The parent/guardian of the birthday child and other guests attending the party will be responsible for any damage caused by mis use of equipment or to the Marion Outdoor Pool by the client or invited guest.
  • Marion Outdoor pool will not accept responsibility for any injuries sustained to any person by equipment bought into, installed and used within the facility by a client or parties acting on behalf of the client.

Photographing, Filming and Recording Policy

  • It is illegal to broadcast or publish images without consent.
  • Under NO circumstances are cameras to be used in changing room areas.

You must have the consent of any readily identifiable individual captured in videography or photography taken at the facility. If an individual is below 18 years of age, you must seek permission from the individual's parent or caregiver.

Staff may request to sight images captured on a device if they reasonable suspect misconduct, failure to present images will result in South Australia Police being contacted and further investigation undertaken.

What is included in our hosted birthday parties

  • Pool entry
  • 45 minutes of pool games with a dedicated party host.
  • Food and beverage package for each child:
    • Party Sausage Roll, Party Pie and Mini Pizza served on individual plates for each child
    • Platter to share of hot chips
    • Individual fruit salad cup
    • Small bag of popcorn
    • Fruit box
  • 45 minutes of fun play in the pools and on the Splash Park and Waterslides. Unlimited slide bands will be issued to all children on the day who meet the waterslide requirements.
  • An ice cream cake can be purchased for an additional cost

Birthday parties are held on Saturday and Sunday during school term and additional parties are held on Tuesday and Thursday during the summer school holidays.

Cost

Hosted Birthday Parties start at $350 for 10 children.

Additional children are $35.00 each with a maximum of 15 children.

On the day of the party

When you arrive at Marion Outdoor Pool you will be met by the Party Co-ordinator at your designated space. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes prior to your party time as another hosted party will be utilising your space.

A Party Host will then greet you and entertain your children with 45 minutes of water games in the Learners Pool. These games will be age and skill appropriate for the children attending the birthday party.

After the games, children can sit back and relax and enjoy their party food served by the Party Co-ordinator in your designated space.

Children will then have the opportunity to enjoy the pools, Waterslides and Splash Park area. You are responsible for supervising your children at all times in accordance with our Watch Around Water policy.

When your party concludes you will need to depart the designated area, however you are welcome to stay and continue the celebrations for the remainder of the day.

FAQs

Why is the minimum age of the party 5 years old?

The minimum age of birthday parties is 5 years to adhere to our Watch Around Water and supervision guidelines.

Can I invite other children not involved in the birthday party?

Other guests can be invited during the duration of the birthday party. They will be required to pay the general admission pricing on arrival. Additional children will not be able to participate in the pool games and the food package will not be supplied.

What games do the party hosts organise?

It is dependent on the age of the children. Younger children may play treasure hunt, what's the time mister wolf, noodle races, stuck in the mud, relay games and general play with a mix of pool toys. Older children will be encouraged to play team-based activities like basketball, relay challenge games and others.

Do the children have the opportunity to have a play by themselves in the water?

The party host will issue children with yellow armbands in line with our Watch Around Water guidelines. They can spend time on the splash park and waterslides and in the learners pool. It is your responsibility to supervise them at this time. Please ensure you have a ratio of 1 adult to every 4 children aged 5 to 9 years old.

Can I bring my own food and drink in to the centre?

Food is supplied as part of the birthday party package. Additional food is allowed to be brought into the facility. You are welcome to bring in a cake, however we can not provide a fridge or freezer. You are welcome to leave in our meeting room on arrival for safety. Knives are NOT to be brought into the facility, and your Party Co-ordinator will supply a knife for cutting if required,

Can I bring decorations and candles for the party?

We allow the use of candles during a birthday party, but you will be expected to supply your own candles, lighter or matches. You may bring in decorations such as a table cloth or banner. Items need to be free standing and not attached to fixtures with adhesives. Balloons are allowed to be brought into the facility but please be mindful of environmental considerations. The area should be left in a clean, tidy and unaltered condition at the completion of your booking.

How long can we stay for after the party activities have finished?

You are welcome to continue your celebrations after the birthday party has concluded. You will need to depart your designated area at the end of your 2 1/2 hours

Do we have to pay for the parents attending the party?

We can accommodate up to 1 adult per child attending the party for no additional charge. Additional adults and children must pay a general admission fee on entry.

Some of our guests didn’t attend. What do I pay if less than the minimum children turn up?

There is no refund on your birthday party after full payment is received. You will received the food for the confirmed number of children.
