Australia Day community celebration

The Marion community is being invited to join a special Australia Day celebration at the new Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre next Thursday morning, January 26.

The Council will be recognising Marion’s Citizen, Young Citizen, Community Event and Sportsperson/Team of the Year for 2023 as well as welcoming around 50 new Australian citizens.

Marion singer Ethan Hall will be performing the National Anthem and the Marion City Band will also be playing.

The citizenship ceremony and award presentations start at 10 am before the family fun kicks off after 11 am with a free barbecue cooked by the Lions Club of Hallett Cove and Districts, a coffee van and entertainment for the family including face painters, lawn games and live music.

This is an event where the Marion community can come together to celebrate Australia Day and recognise those individuals and organisations who make the City of Marion such a wonderful place to live and work.
