FRUIT FLY UPDATE: There is a Mediterranean fruit fly outbreak in Warradale and surrounding suburbs.

We recommend that you check the fruit fly map to find out if you’re living or working in the outbreak area, and what you need to do.

Affected suburbs (partly or wholly) include: Brighton, Dover Gardens, Hove, Marion, North Brighton, Oaklands Park, Seacombe Gardens, Seacombe Heights, Somerton Park, South Brighton, Sturt and Warradale.Continue to enjoy SA fruit and vegetables, but know the restrictions on moving them around.

  • Once purchased or picked, fruit and vegetables at risk from fruit fly can’t leave your property.
  • Check your home-grown fruit for fruit fly and report anything unusual to the Fruit Fly Hotline on 1300 666 010.
  • Clean up over-ripe or fallen fruit and place in your kerbside green bin (do not compost or bury)
  • Use up leftover home-grown fruit—eat, cook or preserve it.
  • Allow PIRSA access to your garden.

Restrictions will be in place until at least 20 December 2021.
