Applications open for Community Leadership Program

Applications are open for the City of Marion’s Community Leadership Program for 2023.

The Council started this free program back in 2008 to build community capacity and develop future leaders.

The program involves a series of interactive workshops with program convenors, Council staff and community leaders.

The workshops cover topics such as: facilitation skills, conflict resolution emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication skills, how to influence and negotiate, and how to confidently deliver a presentation.

“The Community Leadership Program provides a great opportunity for community members to build their leadership skills and network, as well as providing access to some fantastic mentors,” said Mayor of Marion Kris Hanna.

The program runs over 15 weeks starting 11 September, with a graduation ceremony on 4 December. There are 20 spots available for people 18 years and over who live, work, play, volunteer or study in the City of Marion.

Previous participants have included City of Marion residents volunteers who have been are involved in our community gardens, local service clubs or sporting clubs, plus people who study, volunteer or work in Marion.
