Marion 100 Community Summit

The City of Marion is hosting an event on 20 November to bring together 100 residents and/or ratepayers to help us to review our Community Engagement framework and how we engage with our community in our decision-making process.

We are seeking your assistance to help spread the word.

Why are we doing this?

We are currently reviewing our Community Engagement framework and how we engage with our community in our decision-making process. In order to do this, we need to involve a broad representation of people from across the City of Marion in these important conversations. The Marion 100 event will allow us to engage with a group of 100 people that are representative of the City of Marion community.

Who can express an interest?

Any residents and ratepayers from the City of Marion.

How will the selection process work?

An open Expressions of Interest process is being held inviting all residents that live within the City of Marion to register to be considered. This open invitation process is being used to ensure we gain a good ‘pool’ of respondents.

The expressions of interest process will be managed independently by community engagement consultant, Becky Hirst. Panel members will be randomly selected by Becky Hirst to ensure a descriptively representative sample of the City of Marion community are involved. Names and contact details will be removed during the selection process as the selection will be made based on demographic data only. Council is not involved in the selection of the Marion 100 representatives.

What does the Marion 100 event involve?

Mayor Kris Hanna will open the event which will include opportunities for you to take part in a series of interactive activities. The two-hour session will be held in-person and include afternoon tea, door prizes and a certificate of participation from the Mayor.

Marion Council are seeking 100 community-minded people - from different genders, ages, suburbs and backgrounds - to review how they engage communities in decision-making process.

Mayor Kris Hanna will open the event where you can join in group discussions and contribute to opinion polls and Q & A sessions.

The two-hour session includes afternoon tea, door prizes and a certificate of participation from the Mayor.

Join the Marion 100 Community Summit!

100 community-minded people from different genders, ages, suburbs, and backgrounds will be part of a conversation that will help shape the future of the City of Marion.

Randomly selected participants will attend a 2-hour event, hosted by Mayor Kris Hanna, and independently facilitated, which includes afternoon tea, door prizes and a certificate of participation.
