What is the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan?

The DAIP is a four-year plan that shows how Council will improve access to services and facilities for people with a disability.

By removing barriers to inclusion Council aims to create a city built on fairness and respect and is safe and welcoming for everyone.

Why is it required?

State Government legislation now requires all Councils to have a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan.

The aim of our DAIP is to:

  • Guide annual actions we deliver to reduce access and inclusion barriers experienced by people with disability between 2020 and 2024
  • Reflect our Equity, Access and Social Inclusion Policy
  • Meet Disability Inclusion Act (2018) legislative requirements
  • Inclusive communities for all
  • Leadership and collaboration
  • Accessible communities
  • Learning and Employment
