Services we offer
While the prospect of an upgrade in your street is exciting, Council understands that having construction works in your street can be an inconvenience and cause disruption.
So that you may plan around upcoming works, an interactive map has been developed which includes our annual capital works program. The map includes the location of upcoming works with the estimated start date and links to any relevant consultations or design plans.
While we try to minimise the impact to residents, unfortunately some inconvenience may occur such as:
When construction works are occurring, your street is a work site and everyone's safety is important. So, please take care, listen to construction crews and if you have any concerns, please contact Council .
If you have received a notification about upcoming works in your street, find more information below on what to expect through each stage.
Each year council consults with the City of Marion community on up-and-coming works. Projects identified for each financial year are listed within the Annual Business Plan. This Annual Business Plan is endorsed by Council, with the projects delivered within the financial year.
After a project listed in the Annual Business Plan has been endorsed the City of Marion, a letter will be sent to the residents immediately impacted by the proposed works and notify that works will be occurring during the financial year and what to expect.
This letter will also provide information related to works, contact information and what residents can do to support the project.
Prior to construction (approximately 2 weeks) residents and businesses that will be impacted will receive a notification letter with an estimated construction date and duration, who will be undertaking the works, contact details of the project manager and further information regarding what to expect.
A construction zone will be set up and works to commence. Any concerns or questions regarding the project please refer to the contact details on the construction notification or contact Council.
The construction zone to be removed and the site will be opened to the public to enjoy the newly upgraded or new infrastructure.
Council is always wanting to hear back from residents, businesses and the broader community to gather information on what we can do better, if you enjoy the upgraded or new infrastructure, how the construction went and if your expectation were met.
