Things to do
In the words of writer, comedian, and television personality Jennifer Wong: “Almost everyone in Australia has a Chinese restaurant memory.” Reminisce and share yours at this immersive evening event.
In the six-part ABC series Chopsticks or Fork? Jennifer toured country towns on a mission to explore the heart and soul of Chinese restaurants in Australia, showcasing the fusion of Australian and Chinese culinary traditions. Now she is paying tribute to viewers’ stories in her new book of the same name.
As a nod to Chopsticks or Fork? Marion Libraries invites you to share cherished memories, photos and favourite anecdotes of your Chinese restaurant experiences via email to libraryevents@marion.sa.gov.au before the event. Jennifer and in conversation partner, author Katherine Tamiko Arguile, will celebrate these special moments during the evening, connecting guests through a shared love of storytelling and Chinese cuisine.
Tantalising canapés will be carefully curated to highlight the delightful cross-cultural flavours that Jennifer discovers in her book. Paired with a selection of local Patritti wines, these bites will transport you back to your favourite Chinese restaurants.
Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience combining food, culture, and memories.
