To celebrate International Compost Awareness Week, Marion residents will have the chance to collect a free 30L bag of compost made by Peats Soils from the contents of Marion’s green bins*.
*Please ensure you bring proof of residence to claim just one free bag for your place of residence, as this offer is only for City of Marion residents.
Event information
This is a drive-through pickup event.
Please enter the depot via the Deliveries entrance gate on Marion Road (opposite Harvey Norman). When you enter the depot, proof of residence will be checked. Follow the traffic signs in the depot to the loading bay where a 30L bag of compost will be loaded into the boot of your car. Exit will be via the Deliveries gate onto Marion Road.
Residents can only enter the depot via car. No bicycles or pedestrians are permitted for safety.
Frequently asked questions
If I can't make it during the event, can I come and collect a bag of compost before or after the event?
No, as it is unsafe for residents to enter the depot outside of the specially arranged event time.
As a property owner, can I collect a bag of compost for my property even if I don’t live there?
No. However, the tenant of your property can receive a free bag of compost.
Will there be parking available?
No. You must remain in your vehicle for drive-through collection.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yes, please bring proof of residence such as a driver’s licence or a utilities bill.
What if I’m not a Marion resident?
You will not be able to claim a bag of compost. Only City of Marion residents (who bring proof of residence) can collect a free bag of compost.
