The aim of Cooinda Neighbourhood Centre is to respond to the health, welfare, individual and community needs of adults.
We achieve this by facilitating a fun, diverse and accessible range of social, recreational and educational activities and programs that develop personal growth, encourage wellbeing and a sense of identity and community.

There is a variety of social groups for the ethnic community.
These include the Polish Australian Friends at Marion, Passa Tempo Marion (Italian Benevolent Foundation), Greek Friendship Group, Polish Link with seniors and the Persian social support group who offer great support and friendship.
The neighbourhood centres are a place where people can connect and diversity is embraced.
We provide support and information for newly arrived people in the community including partnering with various service providers that deliver settlement support, case management and friendly programs. Jannet Stolinski who along with Gatluit Wiw Chuol are part of the New Settlement program run by Lutheran Care.

Adult Community Education (ACE) provides adults with a wide range of non-formal, accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities.
Adult Community Education assists participants to:
Providing opportunities to stay active, socially connected and independent in your local community.
We offer social groups for adults with a disability. Meet new people and enjoy fun activities and outings in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment.

The centre is available for hire for community groups. Please phone us for further information. No private party hire is available.
The centre is accessible for wheelchairs.
